BS Environmental Science - Quantitative Environmental Science

Environmental Science (BS) - Quantitative Environmental Science (121E)

This concentration is for students who are interested in the mathematical side of environmental science. The added mathematical and technical background will provide graduates with the technical skills that they need to succeed at the graduate level, especially for those interested in the fields of hydrogeology, remote sensing and geospatial data analysis, atmospheric science, etc. Students who are interested in meteorology would be best served by this program of study.

Students in this program of study must take Hydrogeology, Geophysics, Engineering Geology, Global Biogeochemical Cycles, Quantifying Environmental Change (a geospatial analysis class),  Quantitative Data Analysis (a coding class for earth/environmental scientists) and Multivariate Data Analysis for Earth/Environmental Scientists in addition to the core environmental science courses. This degree track also requires an extra two semesters of math beyond Calculus II. Choices include Linear Algebra or Differential Equations in addition to the required Calculus III.
